Within a small Sydney bedroom, beautiful song-smithery glistens through the home recordings of Adam R. Lees. The singer / guitarist of the now finished Staying At Home began the project shortly before the bands split in late 2005, recording and playing the rare show under the Oh Messy Life title. Describing himself as a self-loathing egotist, Adam is nothing short of a quirky and charming young man, and this is superbly captured in his records. Adam has been an integral part to how the label has taken shape and where it is today.

In April 2006, a collection of early demo recordings produced in the previous year were released. This record, '1+1–1=1', was the first Hobbledehoy release. In amongst some light touring, 'The Literature EP' was then created and made available in November 2006. The second release for both Oh Messy Life and Hobbledehoy. Since then, Adam has musically focused almost solely on a new punk rock 3-piece project, Lungs.
